Yoav Bashan

Yoav Bashan is a Professor of environmental microbiology at the Northwestern Center for Biological Research (CIBNOR, Mexico) and at the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science, the University of Arizona, USA. He is also an adjunct professor in several other universities worldwide. He serves as the President of The Bashan Foundation, a private, virtual international scientific research institute (USA) devoted to the diffusion of scientific information to developing countries (http://bashanfoundation.org) and the Group Leader of the environmental microbiology group at CIBNOR (http://bashanfoundation.org/gmaweb/igma.html). The main research interests of Bashan are plant-microorganisms interactions in aquatic and terrestrial environments, bioremediation of soil and water, and restoration of damaged ecosystems. Professor Bashan published over 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals and in scientific books. His work was cited about 4000 times in articles in scientific journals. In addition, he serves as a reviewer and an editorial board member for over 100 scientific journals and serves as an advisor for over 30 graduated students from various countries.
