Vincent Jomelli is a Senior Scientist at the lab of physical geography CNRS associated with the Sorbonne University. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1997 from the University Paris 7 and worked on the sedimentology of snow avalanche deposits. He was a young scientist at the lab of physical geography before being seconded to Great Ice Department at the Institut de Recherche pour le Developpement (IRD) between 2004 and 2008. He served as a Contributor on paleoclimate reconstruction from tree ring and moraine records. His research focuses on past, present, and future impacts of climate change on the periglacial belt with a special attention to snow avalanches, landslides, and glaciers. He has participated in numerous expeditions to the Andes, the Alps, Caucasus, Kerguelen, and Greenland.
