Peter F. Nelson
Peter F. Nelson holds both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He was appointed as a Professor of environmental studies at Macquarie University in 2001 and an Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Science in 2008. He was previously a Senior Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO Energy Technology, where he managed projects on energy and the environment, air pollutant measurement, and mechanism of formation and control. Professor Nelson has had more than 30-year experience in research on atmospheric chemistry, the assessment and control of air pollution, and on environmental issues associated with energy use. His research expertise is in trace species, with emphasis on toxic organics from industrial and vehicular sources, biogenic emissions, mercury, and other trace elements and waste management.
