Myung C. Jung
Myung Chae Jung received a B.S. degree from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea (1989); an M.S. degree from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea (1991); and a Ph.D. degree from Imperial College London, London, UK (1995). Jung received a citation from the Ministry of Environment (2004), Best Paper Award of Korean Federation of Science and Technology Society (2007), and a citation from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. Jung is a subject of biographical record in the Marquis Who’s Who in the World since 2006, an honorable president of societies or international organizations, and a Member of board of directors in Asia-Pacific Division of Society for Environmental Geochemistry. Jung serves as a Member of the board of directors in Korea Soil and Groundwater Association since 2006, a Member of the board of directors in Korean Society of Economic and Environmental Geology since 2003, a Member of the board of directors in Korean Society of Geosystem Engineering since 2003, and a Member of the board of directors in Korean Society of Waste Management since 2006. Jung’s fields of expertise include environmental geochemistry; investigation, analysis, evaluation, and remediation of heavy metals in soils and wastes; asbestos problems in rock and soils; solidification and stabilization of toxic elements in soils; and environmental problems of soil and water in mining environment. Jung is a Member of the Society for Environmental Geochemistry and Health (SEGH), International Association of Geochemical Exploration, and the Steering Committee on Asia-Pacific Division of Society for Environmental Geochemistry.
