José L. Alba-Castro

Jose Luis Alba-Castro received the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering in 1997 from the University of Vigo, Spain. He is currently an Associate Professor at the same University, teaching image processing, statistical pattern recognition, machine learning, and biometrics. His research interests include signal and image-based biometrics, computer vision for driver assistance, and computer vision for quality control. He has been the Leader of several research projects and contracts on these topics, and is the head of the computer vision laboratory of the University of Vigo. He has served in many technical program committees including IEEE International Conference on Pattern Recognition and IAPR/IEEE International Conference on Biometrics. He was also an active participant in the NoE of the 6thFP, BIOSECURE, and the COST actions 275 (Biometrics-Based Recognition over the Internet) and 2101 (Biometrics for Identity Documents and Smart Cards).
