J. Craig Rowlands
J. Craig Rowlands is a Lead Scientist at The Dow Chemical Company’s Department of Toxicology and Environmental Research & Consulting (TERC) where he provides toxicology advice to Dow businesses and directs a research program on environmental pollutants. Dr. Rowlands came to Dow from the US Food and Drug Administration where he served as a Scientific Reviewer. Prior to joining FDA, Dr. Rowlands was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics—Toxicology and Pharmacology at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark, USA. His research focus was investigating the role of diet on toxin modes of action and the development of chronic disease. Dr. Rowlands received his Ph.D. degree in molecular toxicology at the Texas A&M University, College Station, Tex, USA where his work focused on mechanisms of dioxin and cancer. He has held additional research positions in pesticide toxicology at the University of California at Berkeley and a fellowship in molecular endocrinology at the Karolinska Institute's Center for Biotechnology in Stockholm, Sweden. He actively publishes and has given multiple presentations and chaired or cochaired symposia at national meetings, scientific organizations, and trade groups. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) and a Fellow of the American College of Nutrition (FACN).
