Alexander N. Orekhov has graduated from Moscow State University (USSR) in 1972 and obtained his Ph.D. degree at the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1978 and second doctoral degree in 1997. He currently holds a Full Professor position. Dr. Orekhov is the Director of the Institute for Atherosclerosis Research and the Laboratory of Angiopathology, Institute for General Pathology and Pathophysiology (Moscow, Russian Federation), and a mentor of 9 M.S., 16 Ph.D., and 9 second doctorate students. He has participated as a committee member in several international conferences from 1999 till present and is an active member of several advisory bodies of international academic societies and associations. Dr. Orekhov is a coauthor of more than 300 research publications and reviews in the field of atherosclerosis, lipid metabolism, and cell biology.
