Razvan Diaconescu obtained his Ph.D. degree from Oxford under Professor Joseph Goguen. He is currently a Research Professor at Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy. He worked also at Japan Advanced Institute for Science and Technology as Designer of the CafeOBJ algebraic specification language. His expertise includes category theoretic approaches to universal logic and model theory, in particular, institution theory, and applications of those to computer science in general and to formal (algebraic) specification in particular.
