Heba Badr El-Din El-Shaarawy


Dr. Heba Badr El-Din El-Shaarawy was born in Cairo, Egypt, in June, 1981. She has graduated from Electronics and Communications Dept., Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt in 2003 with honor, and worked as a teacher assistant in the same department. She has obtained her master degree in 2005 from Cairo University, in the miniaturization of microstrip filters. In December 2009, she has obtained her Ph.D. in a co-supervision program between the Laboratoire d’Analyse et d’Architectures des Systèmes at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (LAAS-CNRS), University of Toulouse, France, and Cairo university, Egypt. From January 2010, she has joined the Micro and Nano systems for Wireless Communication research group in LAAS-CNRS as a post-doctor. She has authored and coauthored over 19 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. She reviewed many papers with Progress in Electromagnetic Research (PIER) letters, and different IEEE conferences. She participated in different research projects funded by the “Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR)” in France and the “Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD)”. Her fields of interest are passive components, electromagnetic bandgap and defected ground structures, reconfigurable and tunable devices, and ferroelectric materials
