The expert paid great attention to the homogeneity of historic climate data and urbanization effects on regional climate change trends: 1) The applicant has systematically investigated the homogeneity status of historic climate data in China and the reasons that cause inhomogeneities, improved the traditional homogeneity study methods, built a routine by combining the "undocumanted" discontinuities testing and adjusting procedures, developped the homogenizied temperature dataset (CHHT1.0) over China, and assessed the uncertainty levels in China temperature changes during the last hundred years, caused by station errors, sampling errors and bias errors, furthermore, reconstructed the surface temperature series over the last 110 years. 2) The applicant has also analysised the regional warming contribution caused by urbanization, proved that those part of impacts were limitted based on the abrupt warming fetures of china temperature changes, and tried to detect the impact of urbanization on the regional warming in different aspects. These researches have been introduced in detail in 8 SCI papers (4 is first author) and 3 EI papers (2 is first author) in the last 5 years which has drawn widely attention of other researchers and have been cited by other authors frequently (266 by SCI paper and 463 by CSCD paper).
