Haiyong Zhu received the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. He worked as a Research Associate at the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fuzhou, China, from August 2007 to October 2010. He worked as Research Fellow at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, from November 2011 to January 2013. Currently, Zhu serves as an Associate Professor in the College of Physics and Electronic Information, Wenzhou University, Wenzhou, China. His current research focuses on novel solid-state lasers and efficient nonlinear frequency conversion to generate intense light in the ultraviolet, visible, and midinfrared spectral regimes.
