Antonio J. Melendez-Martinez
Antonio J. Melendez-Martinez has a multidisciplinary expertise on carotenoids and other pigments acquired in academic institutions in Spain (Universidad de Sevilla), UK (University of Liverpool and Royal Holloway University of London), and the USA (United States Department of Agriculture-Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University, Boston). His Ph.D. thesis was awarded a Europan Doctorate mention and the Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate of the Universidad de Sevilla (US). He has been a Marie Curie, Juan de la Cierva, and Ramon y Cajal Fellow. As a result of his research activities, he has presented several oral communications to international congresses and has published over 50 scientific papers (over 30 as first author). Currently, he coordinates an international network on carotenoids involving 40 groups from the academia and the industry.
