Dr. Jeong-Tae Kim is the professor of Ocean Engineering Department at Pukyong National University, Korea. He is the director of the Brain Korea Research Team for Coastal Infrastructure System at Pukyong University. Dr. Kim received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in Civil Engineering from Kangwon National University in 1984 and 1986, and PhD in Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1993. He currently serves for academic boards, including several editorial boards, associate editors of journals, and steering committee. Focusing on the safety of large infrastructures such as bridges and harbor structures, his research interests include structural health monitoring, risk assessment, damage detection theory, and smart sensor, etc. Dr. Kim has published about 150 journals, obtained 6 Korean national patents and 2 computer software copyright registration certificates. Dr. Kim has received several awards and honors. In 2008, 2009, and 2011, Dr. Kim was nominated as Premier Professor of Year of Pukyong National University. He has served for several social service committees and also he has involved in national-level research projects on his research subjects.
