Chang-Yu Sun is currently a Professor in College of Chemical Engineering of China, University of Petroleum, Beijing, China. He received a B.S. degree in chemical machinery from East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China, a M.S. degree in chemical engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, and a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from China University of Petroleum, Beijing, China. His research focuses on conducting fundamental and applied research on gas hydrate, including thermodynamic and kinetics of gas hydrate, experimental and numerical simulation of accumulation process of natural gas hydrate, development of technologies for the exploitation of natural gas hydrate, development of hydrate-based applied technologies, including the storage of natural gas in the form of hydrate, the separation of gas mixture by forming hydrate, and the inhibition or control of hydrate in oil/gas pipelines. He also devotes to the study on the phase behavior and transport properties of complex fluid. He has published more than 100 papers and received the First-class Prize of the Natural Science Award granted by the Ministry of Education of China in 2010.
