Zhuming Bi

Zhuming Bi is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario Canada and an IEEE Member. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Engineering, Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne, USA. He had been serving as a Senior Project Engineer at Northern Ireland Technology Centre, Queen‘s University Belfast, UK, from 2007–2009, a Research Scientist at the Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute of National Research Council Canada from 2003 to 2007, and an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at Simon Fraser University from 2002 to 2003. He worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of Manufacturing Engineering, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, China, from 1996–1999. He received a Ph.D. degree in design and manufacturing from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, in 2002, and a Ph.D. degree in mechatronic control and automation from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 1994, respectively. He has published over 40 international journal articles on parallel kinematic machines, reconfigurable robots and fixtures, planning and scheduling, and software development, and testing. His current interests include sustainable manufacturing, industrial informatics, mechatronics, robotics, and automation.
