Robert Murison

Robert Murison was born in Wales in 1951 and was educated at the University of St. Andrews (B.S. degree in 1974) and at the University of Leicester (Ph.D. degree in 1978). Since 1978, he has worked at the Department of Biological and Medical Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, University of Bergen, Norway, first as a Postdoctoral Fellow, and later as an Associate Professor and Full Professor. He has served as the Research Dean at the Faculty of Psychology and has held an adjunct professorship at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He also holds a part-time position with the Mental Health Programme of the Research Council of Norway. His main interests have been stress research both in animals and humans, in particular effects of stress on vulnerability to ulcers and ulcerations in the gastrointestinal system, and stress psychoneuroendocrinology. Murison is a Member of the Editorial Boards of the Journals Psychoneuroendocrinology, Stress, and the Scandinavian Journal of Laboratory Animal Science.
