Chia-Yen Dai, graduated from College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, completed his clinical training at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital and received the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He is now (1) Professor of internal medicine at College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University; (2) Director of Department of Preventive medicine; (3) Director of Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, (4) Visiting staff of Hepatology Division, Department of Internal Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Kaohsiung Medical University. He has the National Medical Board of Taiwan, Board of Internal Medicine, Taiwan, Board of Gastroenterology, Taiwan, Board of Digestive Endoscopy, Taiwan, Board of Taiwan Society of Ultrasound in Medicine, Taiwan, and Board of Occupational Medicine, Taiwan. He is a specialist in gastroenterology, hepatology, digestive endoscopy, ultrasonography, and occupational and environmental medicine. He is also now the Vice Secretary General of both The Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan (GEST) and The Taiwan Association of the Study of The Liver (TASL). The major fields of research include the nature course, virology, and management of chronic viral hepatitis B and C and related human genomics and occupational and environmental medicine. In these recent ten years, he has published more than 130 papers, with more than 50 papers of first or corresponding authors. He is a reviewer for many scientific journals.
