George Paraskevas works as Assistant Professor of anatomy at Department of Anatomy, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Greece. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in 2000 and received the Medical degree in 1994 from Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and gained full qualification as specialist in orthopaedic surgery in 2004. In 2009, Paraskevas served as Assistant Professor of anatomy at Department of Anatomy, Medical School, AUTH, and in 2004 was a Postdoctoral Lecturer at Department of Anatomy, AUTH. Paraskevas's scientific fields of interest are surgical anatomy of gastrointestinal tract, congenital anomalies of bones and muscles, entrapment syndromes of nerves and neuropathies, variational anatomy of vascular system, and trauma and surgery. Moreover, Paraskevas is a Member of the International Editorial Board of the medical journals Open Journal of Orthopaedics, Folia Anatomica, Open Anatomy Journal, and World Medical Imaging Research. He is also member of organizing committees of various congresses, workshops, seminars, and meetings and founder member of the Medical Union of Anatomists of Balkans and Black Sea region countries. He published over 100 papers in indexed international medical journals and is author of several textbooks of anatomy. Paraskevas is also a Visiting Professor of anatomy at Pharmacy School, AUTH, and former Visiting Professor of descriptive and functional anatomy at School of Sports Science, AUTH.
