María del Carmen Fernandez-Moreno serves currently as a Senior Specialist (Medical Doctor) in the Department of Neurology, the Hospital de Valme, Seville, Spain. She completed her residency in geriatrics at the Hospital Virgen Macarena, Seville, Spain. Later on, she changed her specialization and completed a four-year residency in neurology at the Hospital de Valme, Seville, Spain. She has also obtained an M.S. degree in movement disorders. She has been an Associate Professor of neurology at the University of Seville, Sevilla, Spain since 2008. In recent years, Dr Fernandez-Moreno’s research interest has been focused on stroke prevention, movement disorders, and neurogeriatrics. In this field she has published numerous original papers, reviews, and book chapters. She has served as a peer reviewer for several national journals: Revista de Neurologia and Revista española de Geriatria y Gerontologia. Dr. Fernandez-Moreno is currently active in clinical trials for stroke.
