Sahar Abdelmoneim, MB BCh degree, M.S. degree, M.S. degree, and FESE degree, is an Assistant Professor of medicine and a Research Associate in the Department of Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases Division, Cardiac Ultrasound and Hemodynamic Laboratory at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She is also an Assistant Lecturer of Cardiology at Assiut University in Egypt. She has completed nine years of dedicated postdoctoral echocardiography research focused on the utilization of ultrasound contrast agents for cardiac imaging, including myocardial perfusion, and additionally she is a physician in the Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Core Lab. She holds an M.S. degree in cardiology (received from Assiut University, Egypt) and an M.S. degree in clinical research (received from Mayo Clinic, USA). She is actively involved in research and clinical education of cardiology fellows to perform and interpret myocardial perfusion echocardiography. Her research interests include application of contrast perfusion echocardiography in acute coronary syndrome and in diabetes mellitus, novel technologies in echocardiography (3D echo and strain) and stress echocardiography, cancer cardiotoxicity and novel echocardiographic imaging techniques, noninvasive diagnostic testing for heart diseases in women, heath-related quality of life evaluation in women, and evidence-based medicine and systematic review and meta-analysis methodology.
