Houman Borouchaki is Professor in applied mathematics at the University of Technology of Troyes, Troyes, France (a French engineering school) since 1998. He is the Head of GAMMA3 (Automatic Mesh Generation and Advanced Methods) project team since 2008. From January 2005 to December 2007, he was the Head of the Laboratory of Mechanical Systems and Concurrent Engineering at UTT. From 1996 till now, he works as a Scientific Advisor at the INRIA French Institute and since 2003 a Scientific Advisor of the IFP Energies nouvelles (a public-sector research, innovation, and training center active in the fields of energy, transport, and the environment). He was also a Scientific Advisor at the ESI Group, a world leading software editor for the numerical simulation of prototype and manufacturing process engineering in applied mechanics from January 2000 to December 2008 and since 2000 till now a Scientific Advisor of the Dassault Aviation. He received the M.S. degree in pure and applied mathematics from University of Paris VII, France, in 1988. He received the D.E.A. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from University of Paris VI in 1989 and 1993, respectively. He received the "Habilitation à diriger des recherches" in applied mathematics from University of Paris VI in 1997. His research activities include scientific computing, numerical analysis, finite element computation, and computer-aided design. He holds 6 patents on geometric modelization and meshing for petroleum reservoirs and geological basins. He is designer/codesigner of 13 industrial software. He has authored/coauthored over 90 articles in archival journals, 90 conference proceedings, and 8 book chapters. He has coauthored a book entitled Delaunay Triangulation and Meshing, Applications to Finite Elements published by Hermes Science Publications, 1998.
