Fernando Pacheco Torgal
F. Pacheco-Torgal serves as an Investigator in the Sustainable Construction Group at the C-TAC Research Centre, in the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal. He´s the author or the coauthor of almost 200 publications including 30 papers published in journals referenced in ISI Web of Knowledge (Q1) with 210 citations (h-index=9). Thirty-three citations were made in papers published in ISI journals with an IF equal or higher than 1.9. It has a ratio SCI paper/year=4.5 and a ratio citation/SCI paper=5 (excluding self-citations from all the other coauthors). He has the highest h-index/year ratio in the civil engineering field in Portugal. In the last 5 years he was the second author in the world to have more papers published in the ISI journal Construction and Building Materials. He is also the first author of two papers in the Construction and Building Materials Top 25 hottest articles for all of 2011 and the first author of the second most-cited paper between 2196 published in Construction and Building Materials since 2008. In the last 5 years he was invited to review 53 SCI papers (47 ISI and 6 Scopus). Pacheco-Torgal is the author of the book Eco-efficient Construction and Building Materials, published by Springer-Verlag London Ltd., in 2011 and the Lead Editor of the book Eco-efficient Concrete and Toxicity of Building Materials,, to be published during 2012 by WoodHead Publishing Ltd., Cambridge, UK. He is a Member of the Portuguese Board of Engineers since 1993; he has been granted with the Senior title in 2003. He has obtained the 5-Year Graduation in civil engineering (University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, 1987–1992), the M.S. degree in civil engineering (University of Coimbra, 2002), and the Ph.D. degree in civil engineering (University of Beira Interior, 2007). His research interests involve eco-efficient construction and building materials.
