Andrea Tinelli is working at the University Affiliated Hospital, “Vito Fazzi” Hospital, Lecce, Italy, as the Chief of the Division of Experimental Researches on endoscopic surgery, imaging, minimally invasive technology, and therapy at the OBGYN Department. Since January 2014, he has obtained a national authorization as an Associate Professor in obstetrics and gynecology. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Moscow, Russia, in the International Translational Medicine & Biomodeling Research Team. Tinelli completed his M.D. degree magna cum laude in 1996 at the School of Medicine, University of Naples “Federico II,” Naples, Italy, and he specialized in obstetrics and gynecology cum laude in 2000 at the University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy. After gaining his specialization, he carried out a surgical fellowship in endoscopy and surgical oncology at the Gynecological Clinic, University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Landeskrankenhaus, Villach, Austria, at the European Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy, and at the National Cancer Institute of Aviano, Italy. He has Ph.D. degree in morphological and molecular science from Catholic University, Rome, Italy. He is, moreover, a permanent Board Member of the Committee in Experimental Oncological and Pathological Medical Researchers at the University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. Tinelli is also an author and a coauthor of 4 books and 30 textbook chapters, is an active member of national and international scientific and professional associations, and is an Editorial Board Member of scientific journals. Tinelli's clinical specialties include minimally invasive surgery and gynecological endoscopy, gynecological surgical oncology, molecular biology in gynecology, endometriosis, and pelvic floor repair.
