Stephen M. Pastores

Stephen M. Pastores received an M.D. degree from Lyceum-Northwestern College. He is a Professor of medicine and anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Director of the Critical Care Medicine Fellowship and Research Programs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine, American College of Chest Physicians, and the American College of Physicians. His clinical research focuses on developing new therapies for severe sepsis and acute lung injury in critically ill patients. He has served as a principal investigator for several international sepsis trials and has authored or coauthored over 40 peer-reviewed publications in various pulmonary and critical care medicine journals. Most recently, he was the program Cochair of the 36th Critical Care Congress of the Society of Critical Care Medicine held in Orlando, Fla, USA, in 2007.
