Rainer W. Lipp
Rainer W. Lipp was born on February 15, 1961, in Graz, Austria. After primary and secondary school, he attended the Medical School in Vienna where he was a tutor in the Departement of Electronmicroscopy and Ultrastructure Research between 1983 and 1985. He received the medical degree (M.D. degree) in 1988 and served as an intern doctor between 1988 and 1989 in Herz Jesu Hospital in Vienna and as a resident at Department of Internal Medicine at the Karl Franzens University in Graz. In 1995, he became an Associate Professor in Internal Medicine. Since 1998, he has been holding a full degree in nclear medicine and since 2000 in endocrinology and metabolism. In 2000, he became the Chairman of the Clinic of Nuclear Medicine at the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Internal Medicine, Medical University Graz. In addition, in 2000, he became the Chairman of the Division of Nuclear Medicine in the Privatklinik Kastanienhof in Graz. His scientific interests are focused on gastrointestinal motility disorders, neuroendocrine tumors, as well as radionuclide receptor imaging and therapy. In 2005, he was honored as a Fellow of the American College of Nuclear Medicine (ACNM).
