Shuichi Nakamura

Shuichi Nakamura studied organic chemistry at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan, where he received Ph.D. degree in 2001 with a thesis title "Application of sulfoxides and sulfides to asymmetric syntheses" under the supervision of Professor Takeshi Toru. He has been an Assistant Professor at Nagoya Institute of Technology since 2001. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with Professor Dennis P. Curran at Pittsburgh University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008. His current research interests focus on asymmetric reactions and asymmetric catalysts. He received Inoue Research Award for Young Scientists (2001) for his Ph.D. thesis and Sankyo Award in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan (2003). He is a member in the Editorial Board of E-Journal of Chemistry (2012.4-)
