José Martínez-Raga works as a Psychiatrist at the Public Health Care System in Valencia (Agencia Valenciana de Salut). Since 2001, he has been the Coordinator of an outpatient Addiction Behaviours Unit and, since 2003, an Associate Professor at the Pharmacology Department at the Universidad CEU Cardinal Herrera in Valencia. Dr. Martínez-Raga got his Medical degree (Licenciado en Medicina y Cirugía) from the Facultad de Medicina de Valencia (University of Valencia Medical School) in 1992. In 1994, he completed an M.S. degree in drug addiction (2-year Master en Prevención de las Drogodependencias) from the University of Valencia. In 2001, he got his Ph.D. degree from the University of Valencia with a study previously conducted as a Research Fellow in psychiatry at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School (Belmont, Mass, USA). Dr. Martínez-Raga completed his psychiatric training at the Maudsley and Bethlem Hospitals in London. He has participated in several research projects and is the coauthor of more than research papers or book chapters. He has collaborated as a Technical Consultant for the Valencian Health Department and as a Temporary Advisor for WHO. He participates actively in several research societies and is invited each year to present in national and international conferences.
