Hajime Takechi

Hajime Takechi received a Ph.D. degree in medical research from Kyoto University (1993), and an M.D. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University (1986). He worked on internship and residency of internal medicine at Fukui Red Cross Hospital (1987–1989), as well as internship and residency on internal medicine at Kyoto University Hospital (1986-1987). He has been working as an Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine, Kyoto University, since 2010. He served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geriatric Medicine, Kyoto University (1999–2010), as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Physiology, University of Saarland, Germany (1996–1999), and as a Research Fellow at the Division of Neuroscience, Osaka Bioscience Institute (1993–1996). He has been honored as a Specialist of dementia, Councilor of the Japanese Geriatrics Society, and certified physician of internal medicine, psychogeriatrics, and dementia. He also serves as a Member at the Japanese Geriatrics Society, Japanese Society for Dementia Research, Japanese Psychogeriatric Society, Japanese Society of Neurology, Japanese Neuroscience Society, and Japanese Society of Internal Medicine.
