Seung Hyun Hur
Seung Hyun Hur studied at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Daejun, Republic of Korea to receive a Philosophy of Doctor of Engineering degree in August 2005, with major single-walled carbon nanotube TFT and flexible electronics. He also studied at Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, to receive an M.S. degree in engineering, in February 1996, with major nanocatalyst, from where he also received a B.Eng. degree in February 1994, with major chemical technology. He has been serving at the University of Ulsan, Ulsan, Republic of Korea, as an Assistant Professor, since September 2009, studying on the Graphene-related materials and devices, and investigating the energy-related materials and devices. He worked at Semprius, NC, USA, as a Senior Research Engineer (February 2009 to August 2009), where he developed most advanced transfer printing technology and conducted joint projects with KODAK and CDT for OLED backplane development. He served at Samsung Electronics LCD Division, Chunan, South Korea, as Senior Research Engineer (2005–2009), where he designed new high performance 80” UD LCD TV panel and 240Hz LCD TV Panel, analyzed display technology trend and set up new technological road map, and applied 6 U.S. patents and 14 domestic patents related display technology. He served at the University of Illinois, Champaign, Ill, USA, as a Researcher (2003–2005), where he supervised and directed international research members, conducted carbon nanotube TFT research for the application in flexible electronics, and published 30 papers related nano-technology to the world’s top class SCI journals. He also worked at Daelim Ind. Daejun, South Korea, as a Research Engineer (1996–2003), where he developed new high performance polymer materials and conducted technical service to international and domestic customers.
