Iwao Sato

The Nippon Dental University, Japan

Iwao Sato was born in Yamagata, Japan, in 1951. He received the B.S. degree from Tokyo University of Fisheries, Tokyo, Japan (1977) and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Medicine, Showa University, Tokyo, Japan (1984). He is an Adjunct Professor of S.D.S.U., USA (1989-1990) and an Associate Professor of School of life Dentistry, The Nippon Dental University, Tokyo, Japan (1990–2001). Since 2001, he has been a Chief Professor at the School of life Dentistry, The Nippon Dental University, Tokyo, Japan. He is mainly interested in a study of the role of intercellular matrix at the organ formation in the orofacial region and anatomical study of the masticatory muscle under the various influences of the dietary changes. Sato is or has been a Member of The Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (since 1988), a Member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists (since 1995), a Member of the International Association for Dental Research (since 1998), a Member of the Japanese Society of Oral Implantology, a Member of the Japanese Dental Education Association, a Member of The Japanese Society of Oral Diagnosis/Oral Medicine, a Member of the Japanese Research Society of Clinical Anatomy, a Member of the Japanese Society for the Temporomandibular Joint, and a Member of the Japanese Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
