Shigeki Kamitani

Shigeki Kamitani serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Molecular Bacteriology, Research Institutes for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University, Japan. He received his M.S. degree in biochemistry from Kyoto University and Ph.D. degree in medical science from Chiba University. His research is directed at the pathogenic bacterial virulence factors. The aim of his research is to understand the molecular mechanisms by which pathogenic bacterial virulence factors affect host cell functions. Specific research activities include the analysis of the structure and function of bacterial protein toxins.
