Efi Pasmatzi was born in Patras, Greece, on May 1, 1966. In 1995, she was a Research Fellow for 3 months at the Department of Dermatology at Harvard’s University. She did her dissertation (summa cum laude) at the Medical School, University of Patras, Greece, in 1998. In 2000, she had received the first prize for the best clinical and the best experimental presentation at the International Symposium on Modern Trends in Skin Pharmacology, which was held in Athens, Greece. She is presently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Dermatology, University of Patras Medical School (Chairman Professor Dr. D. Tsambaos). She is mainly interested in immunohistochemistry, lectin biology, Toll-like receptors, and retinoid and cytokine therapeutic actions. She is a member of 2 Greek scientific societies having published so far, 49 full papers in peer-reviewed journals, 5 full papers in textbooks, and 6 abstracts in peer-reviewed journals.
