Tom Lenaerts

Tom Lenaerts (Brasschaat, Belgium, 1972) studied computer science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium, where he also obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2003. Afterwards he held different postdoctoral positions, performing research on different topics, ranging from evolutionary game theory to protein bioinformatics research. Since 2008, he has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium where he has been coheading the machine learning group in the Department of Computer Science. His current research interests cover different interdisciplinary topics, including the dynamics of learning and evolution, the evolutionary dynamics of chronic myeloid leukemia, and the mechanisms of protein allostery and signal transduction.
