Hiroshi Tanaka
Hiroshi Tanaka was born in Kyoto, Japan, in 1973. He received the Mt.E. degree from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1996, and the D.Eng. degree from the University of the Ryukyus, Nishihara, Japan, in 2001. Since 1996, he works at the Thermal Engineering Laboratory of the University of the Ryukyus. In 2001, he was a Research Assistant at Kurume National College of Technology, Kurume, Japan. Presently, he serves as an Associate Professor at Kurume National College of Technology. In 2007, he was an Invited Researcher at Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials, Daejeon, Republic of Korea for a year. He is mainly interested in solar distillation (single-effect stills (basin type and tilted wick type) and multiple-effect diffusion stills). In 1997, he was recipient of the Award (student class) of the Japan Solar Energy Society. He works with the Japan Solar Energy Society, the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the Heat Transfer Society of Japan.
