Hyekyung Ha

Hyekyung Ha received her B.S. degree from the Department of Chemistry, Sangmyung University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. In 1997, she received her M.S. degree in biochemistry from the same department, with a thesis entitled “Anticancer effect of herbal extract (Bupleuri Radix, Houttuyniae Herba) on murine reticulum sarcoma cell line.” In 2000, she obtained her Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from the same department, with a thesis entitled “Ameliorating effect of Astragalus membranaceus extracts on the bone loss of ovariectomized rats.” From November 1997 to June 2006, she served as a Research Fellow at Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM), Daejeon, Republic of Korea. From March 2005 to February 2009, she worked as an Adjunct Professor at Sangmyung University. Since July 2006, she has been working as a Principal Researcher at the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM). Her research areas include the pharmacological efficacies for herbal medicine and anti-inflammation, immune regulation, atopic dermatitis, osteoporosis, and induction of growth hormone.
