Mahmut Dogru received his Ph.D. degree in experimental nuclear physics from the University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK, in 1993. He worked in the Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey, from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, he started working in the Nuclear Physics Division, Fırat University, Elazığ, Turkey, as an Associate Professor. He has been a Professor since 2003 in the same division. He was leading many projects on radiation measurements, radiochemistry, radiation detection, radiation contamination, environmental health, radon, and measurements. He was the Head of the Nuclear Physics Division during the period between 1996 and 2008. He is a Reviewer of some international journals such as Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, Radiation Measurements, Environmental International, Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, and Annals of Nuclear Energy.
