William Austin

Dr Austin is Reader in Geography and Geosciences at the University of St Andrews, where he has built upon a recognised expertise in palaeoceanography (ocean history), with a particular focus on shelf seas and the mid-latitude ocean-climate system on a range of time-scales (modern processes to Neogene). He is internationally-known for his work on benthic foraminifera and has parallel research interests in marine radiocarbon and tephrochronology.
