1981-After graduate from Hokkaido University Medical School, got the MD, belonged to the First Department of Surgery, Osaka University Medical School. 1981- 1984 Staff, Department of Surgery, Kinan General Hospital. 1985- started a research in the mechanism of discordant xenograft rejection, 1989-Ph.D. from Osaka University. 1988-90 Fellow, University of Texas Medical School at Houston, and Visiting Surgeon, Transplant Service, Texas Heart Institute. 1995-Assistant Professor, 98-Associate Professor, Division of Organ Transplant, Department of Surgery, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine. Research interests - mechanism of discordant xenograft rejection, modification of glycoantigen, especially N-glycan, modified complement regulatory protein (CRP), such as tandem form of DAF(CD55), modified high expression HLA-E, HLA-E (147), inhibition of porcine endogenous retrovirus (PERV), and production of gene modified pigs, such as DAF(CD55)+N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase III (GnT-III)-transgenic and a1,3-galactosyltransferase knockout pig. In addition, participation of chemokine and adhesion molecules in small intestinal transplantation.
