Antonio Barile was born in L‘Aquila (Italy), in September 13th, 1963. In July 1988, he received an M.D. degree from the University of L‘Aquila. In July 1993, he finished a postgraduation in diagnostic radiology at the University of L‘Aquila. From 1991 to 1999, he attended the Department of Radiology at the University of L‘Aquila in musculoskeletal radiology (Chairman Professor C. Masciocchi). Since November 1999, he has been working as an Assistant Professor of radiology at the Department of Radiology of the University of L‘Aquila. Since January 2000, he has been serving as the Chief of musculoskeletal radiology at the Department of Radiology of the University of L‘Aquila. From 1989 to 1992, he served as a Secretary in the Sports Medicine Group of the Italian Society of Radiology. From 1992 to 1996, he worked as a Secretary and Councillor of the Musculoskeletal Radiologic Group of the Italian Society of Radiology. Since 2002, he has been a Member and Cochairman of the Didactic and Scientific Committee of the Italian Group of Musculoskeletal Radiology. He serves as a Member of the Scientific Committee of the General Assembly and Meeting of the Italian Society of Radiology (Verona 2010). He has a membership to European societies: SIRM, EAR, ESSR. His main field of interest is in musculoskeletal radiology. He has authored 15 books and more than 170 articles (indexed 39), published on national and international journals, more than 280 abstracts and invited speaker in more than 280 national and international courses and congresses.
