Diamantis Kofteridi studied at Medical School, University of Cheiti, Italy, from 1980 till 1988 and obtained the Medical degree from the same university in 1998. He worked as a House Officer and Registrar in internal medicine at the University Hospital of Heraklion, Creet, Greece from 1991 till 1996. Moreover, he was a Research Fellow and Honorary Registrar at the Department of Internal Medicine at the same hospital (1996-1997). From 1994 till 1998, he worked on his postgraduate study entitled “Epidemiological study in human sera of q fever in Crete: isolation and cultivation of c. burnetii.” Dr. Kofteridi spent two year working at Hellenic Centre for Infectious Diseases Control (from 1997 to 1999) and a year working at NHS as an Honorary Registrar at Infection and Immunodeficiency Unit, King’s Cross Hospital, Dundee, Scotland (1999-2000). Dr. Kofteridi was also an Honorary Attending Physician at the Department of Internal Medicine, the University Hospital of Heraklion in 2000. Since 2000, he has been working as an Assistant Professor of internal medicine at University of Crete.
