Xuemei Sui received her M.D. degree in China, her M.P.H. degree in biometry from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, Ala, USA, and her Ph.D. degree in exercise science from the University of South Carolina, SC, USA. She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Exercise Science, Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC, USA. She is one of the instructors for exercise-randomized controlled trial. During the past several years, she has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles in physical activity, cardiorespiratory fitness, and health outcomes. She is an Active Reviewer for many high-impact journals such as Archives of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Epidemiology, and Prevention Science. Dr. Sui is a physical activity epidemiologist specializing in aging-related activity and disease outcomes, in promoting physical activity through lifestyle intervention, and in long-term observational studies related to injury and energy balance. She has studied under guidance of Dr. Steven Blair, a renowned national and international physical activity expert.
