Andrea Gazzaniga
Andrea Gazzaniga serves as a Full Professor at the University of Milan, Italy. After graduating in 1975, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pavia and attended the School of Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), as a Visiting Scientist. In 1987, he joined the University of Milan, where he teaches pharmaceutical technology and biopharmaceutics and supervises the research activity of numerous Ph.D. as well as postdoctoral students. Professor Gazzaniga has authored over 130 research papers, several reviews, various patents, and numerous invited lectures. His current research interests include the design of oral delivery systems intended for prolonged, pulsatile and colonic release, the characterization of solid state properties, and the formulation and evaluation of generic products. He serves on the editorial board of international journals and acts as a Referee for the National Regulatory Agency (AIFA) as well as an Official Expert for the European Pharmacopoeia (Group12-Galenical Products). He is a member of several scientific organizations and of the Advisory Board of the Italian Societies AFI (Association of Industrial Pharmacists), ADRITELF (Association of Pharmaceutical Technology Teachers), and TEFARCO Innova (Interuniversity Research Consortium). Moreover, he is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
