Abdallah I. Husein Malkawi
Abdallah I. Husein Malkawi, Professor of geotechnical and dam engineering at Jordan University of Science and Technology, graduated from the University of Akron, OH, USA, with a Doctorate degree in geotechnical engineering and Postdoctorate degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Burruss Hall, VA, USA. Malkawi has held many important administrative positions. Currently he is the President of Jordan University of Science and Technology. Previously, he served as Vice President of the German Jordanian University, Vice President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, and Dean of Research at Jordan University of Science and Technology. Currently, Malkawi is on the Advisory Board of the North African and Mediterranean Center (CANMRE), University of Tsukuba, Japan, Editor-in-Chief of the International Jordan Journal of Civil Engineering, and Member of the Editorial Board of the Geotechnical Testing Journal (ASTM), USA. Malkawi also serves as Consultant to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Head of the National Dams Committee. He is also a Member of the Royal Committee for Water Management in Jordan, Consultant to the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC), Consultant to the Saudiconsult, Saudi Arabia, on the Damad dam, Consultant to Andriolo Ito Engenharia Ltda. Sao Carlos, SP, Brazil, and Consultant to the Government of Costa Rica, on the Pirris Dam, from 2004 to 2007, Metolong RCC Dam, South Africa, and Lesotho, and Currently he is Consultant to the World Bank for the Red Sea Dead Sea Canal. He is the Founder and Owner of A3DL International Engineering Consultant, August 2010.
