Michael P. Rudolf
Michael P. Rudolf received the Ph.D. degree in immunology from the University of Bern, Switzerland, in 1996, focusing on phage display libraries and epitope mapping of antibodies. Between 1997 and 2000, he carried out his postdoctoral training in the group of Professor W. Martin Kast at Loyola University in Chicago, USA, where he oversaw projects in the field of tumor immunology in Papilloma virus-induced cancer as well as and cell culture techniques of primary human lymphocytes. In 2000, he moved to San Diego to join Biogen Idec as a Staff Research Scientist, where he worked until his return to Switzerland in 2005. In 2005, he joined a team of specialists at Kenta Biotech as the Head of preclinical research. He helped to build the research team at Kenta Biotech and to kick-start several research programs. After his promotion to Chief Scientific Officer in 2007, he oversees now the entire research and development activities at Kenta Biotech from a scientific as well as a strategic point. Under his guidance, Kenta Biotech’s R&D team has successfully moved several antibody projects from the inception to preclinical proof-of-concept. His area of expertise is within the fields of antibody generation and technologies, human immunology, and microbiology and host-pathogen interactions. During his scientific career, he has won several awards for his research and has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers.
