Raja Dahmane graduated from the Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1987. She obtained her M.S. degree in histochemical and morphometric analysis of skeletal muscles in 1995. Moreover, Dr. Dahmane joined the research team of the Institute of Anatomy, Medical Faculty of Ljubljana, on the Structure and Function of Skeletal Muscles in Physiological, Experimental, and Pathological Conditions project. In addition, she received the Ph.D. degree (2002) from the Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, in the field of skeletal muscle plasticity, applying histochemical, morphometric, and biomechanical techniques. Furthermore, she is a Professor of anatomy and the Head Chair of Biomedicine at the Health Care Division, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ljubljana. Also, Professor Dahmane is an author of numerous scientific articles concerning histochemical, immunohistochemical, and mechanomyographical analysis of skeletal muscles and liver surgical anatomy. Dahmane’s actual main research field is the relevance of anatomical structures to the liver surgical techniques, particularly to the elective vascular exclusion during hemiliver surgery.
