Silvano Geremia serves as an Associate Professor of general chemistry and a Coordinator of the Centre of Excellence in Biocrystallography (CEB) at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of Trieste University (Italy). He teaches general chemistry, biocrystallography, structural biology, and structure of proteins for undergraduate chemistry, biology, and biotechnology students. He has an extensive experience in crystallography and his research is focused on structural studies on supramolecular and protein systems. He coauthored about 130 papers, published in renowned international journals with high impact factor (H-index= 30). He also serves as a referee of several international journals and valuator of research projects. He worked as an Associate Professor (2002) in general chemistry at the University of Trieste, Italy; an Academic Visitor (1998) at the Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford, UK; a Research Associate (1996) in general chemistry at the University of Trieste, Italy; a Research Associate (1994) in general chemistry at the University of Ancona, Italy; a Postdoctoral Fellow (1992-1993) at Elettra Synchrotron Trieste, Italy, and at the Institut für Angewandte Physik, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He received a Ph.D. degree (1991) in chemistry from the University of Trieste, Venice, Ferrara, and a B.S. degree (1988) in chemistry from the University of Trieste, Italy.
