Silvano Geremia received the Ph.D. (1991) and B.S. (1988) degrees in chemistry from the University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy. Silvano Geremia works as an Associate Professor of general chemistry, a Coordinator of the Centre of Excellence in Biocrystallography (CEB), and Director of the Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences of Trieste University (Trieste, Italy). He teaches general chemistry, biocrystallography, structural biology, and structure of proteins for undergraduate chemistry, biology, and biotechnology students. He has an extensive experience in crystallography and his research is focused on structural studies on supramolecular and protein systems. Geremia coauthored about 140 papers, published in renowned international journals with high impact factor (h-index: 33). Geremia also serves as a Referee of several international journals and Valuator of research projects. He has served as an Associate Professor (2002) in general chemistry at the University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy; Academic Visitor (1998) at the Laboratory of Molecular Biophysics of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK; Assistant Professor (1996) in general chemistry at the University of Trieste; Assistant Professor (1994) in general chemistry at the University of Ancona, Ancona, Italy; a Postdoctoral Fellow (from 1992 to 1993) at Elettra Synchrotron, Trieste, Italy, and at the Institut für Angewandte Physik, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Erlangen, Germany.
