Renato A. Mortara
Renato A. Mortara graduated from Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas at Universidade de São Paulo (1980), obtained an M.S. degree in biochemistry also from Universidade de São Paulo (1980), and a Ph.D. degree from King's College and MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, the University of Cambridge (1986). Currently, is an Associate Professor at the Division of Parasitology, UNIFESP, Councilor of the Brazilian Society of Protozoology. His work focuses on the cell biologycal aspects of the interaction of Trypanosoma cruzi and mammalian host cells and tissues. He also collaborates with several research groups by means of his expertise in confocal microscopy.
