Roman Lesyk was born in Stary Sambir, Lviv region, Ukraine, in 1968. He received the M.S. degree in pharmacy, Ph.D., and D.S. degrees from Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University (DH LNMU), Lviv, Ukraine in 1993, 1996, and 2004, respectively. Since 1993, Lesyk is with the Department of Pharmaceutical, Organic, and Bioorganic Chemistry of DH LNMU. In 1993, he was an Assistant Professor. From 2001 to 2005, Lesyk was an Associate Professor (Docent). Presently, he is a Professor and Dean of Pharmaceutical Faculty of DH LNMU. He is mainly interested in pharmaceutical, medicinal, and organic chemistry, drug design, and synthesis of heterocyclic compounds as potential anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antituberculosis and antimicrobial drugs. He is Vice President of the Galician Pharmaceutical Association. He is an Associate Editor of the Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy & Medical Standardization (Ukraine), Member of Editorial Boards of “Farmacia Szpitalna w Polsce i na swiecie” (Poland), Annales UMCS. Pharmacia (Poland), and Acta Medica Leopolensia (Ukraine).
