Olivier Beuf was born in France in 1970. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Lyon, France, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA working on advanced methodological MRI developments for musculoskeletal applications. After serving shortly as an MRI Application Specialist at Siemens Medical Solutions, France, he joined the CNRS 5012 NMR Laboratory in 2000. Since 2005, he has been acting as the Head of a research team entitled NMR and Optics: Methods and Systems from the CREATIS Laboratory where he serves currently as the Director of Research at CNRS. His research mainly focuses on radiofrequency coils, MR sequences, and methodological developments for medical or biological MRI applications both on human and small animals.
