Lisa Toto got her M.D. degree, with Magna Cum Laude, from the University G d’Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara, in 1997, and she specialized in ophthalmology, with Magna Cum Laude, at the University of Trieste, Trieste, Italy, in 2001. She was a Researcher in ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University G d ’Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara, Chieti, Italy, in 2008. She is now a Director at Retina and Electrophysiology Service, Department of Medicine and Ageing Science, University G d’Annunzio. Toto’s principle fields of interests are cataract surgery, refractive surgery, medical and surgical retina, corneal pathologies and surgery, glaucoma, and ophthalmic imaging. She is the author of original scientific articles, book chapters, and monographs in ophthalmology, 37 of which published in peer-reviewed journals included in the Journal Citation Report. She has also scientifically reviewed the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Journal of Refractive Surgery, the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the European Journal of Ophthalmology, the International Journal of Ophthalmology, BMC Ophthalmology, and OSLI Retina.
